Founded by Malia, a Veterinary Technician, Whitewood Acres began as a passion project early in her veterinary career. What started as a small, homestyle luxury boarding experience has grown into a thoughtfully designed space centered around animal wellbeing, enrichment, and personalized attention.

We specialize in low volume, relationship based dog boarding where each guest receives individualized care in a calm, structured, home style environment.

As Whitewood Acres continues to grow, we are thoughtfully expanding into additional animal based experiences including small group classes, hands-on pony experiences, and specialty wellness services in the future. Our mission remains the same: to create meaningful, high quality interactions between animals and our community.

Located just 15 minutes north of Big Lake, MN near the beautiful Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, our peaceful property offers space, safety, and a true retreat-style setting.
