Founded by Malia, a Veterinary Technician, Whitewood Acres began as a passion project early in her veterinary career. What started as a small, homestyle luxury boarding experience has grown into a thoughtfully designed space centered around animal wellbeing, enrichment, and personalized attention.

We specialize in low-volume, relationship based dog boarding where each guest receives individualized care in a calm, structured, home-style environment.

As Whitewood Acres continues to grow, we are thoughtfully expanding into additional animal-based experiences including small group classes, hands-on pony experiences, and specialty wellness services in the future. Our mission remains the same: to create meaningful, high-quality interactions between animals and our community.

Located just 15 minutes north of Big Lake, MN near the beautiful Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, our peaceful property offers space, safety, and a true retreat-style setting.
